He is at fenway right now. Home opener. Red Sox vs Yankees. World Series banner was unfurled. Right now, the Red Sox are getting their world series rings.

In front of the Yankees.

Paul gets to watch. RIGHT THERE.

[Mad]

I hate him. I hate him bad. [Mad]

I hope Goo Boy gets to see it!!!

We were teary-eyed here in the home.

Not classy to boo Pedro, even though he is not classy for skipping it.

In practice, players who have switched teams usually aren't at the ring ceremony, and have their ring sent to the new team. Derek Lowe is an exception, not the rule.

When the Marlins won and were then broken apart the next year, their...manager? Someone hand delivered the rings to each player at their homes or new team. Now that's class.

Dave Roberts showed up as well. [Smile]

Perhaps, The Tick, but thre were quite a few ex-Red Sox players there, and Pedro had made some sort of a stink about this.

As he is wont to do. I'm sure Boston fans just wish he was around to throw that complete game two hitter for THEM. [Wink]

It is also the way of the Boston fans to tear their former heroes apart limb from limb.

Only the ones that sell out, like Pedro. Or that, while on the team, had cut apart team unity, like Nomar.

Lowe and Roberts got VERY warm welcomes from the crowd. They're still heroes to Sox fans.

Tom Gordon, used to play for the Sox, now plays for the Yankees? Boos, boos, boos. 'Cause he's a traitor. [Wink]

Oh, I know, there's a code. Sometimes, though, it's just leaving for a better salary that does it.
Or being a big baby.(Pedro)
Or a pompous a**(Roger)

Poor Nomah, though, he was revered for years.

Lucky Paul, but he'll definitely appreciate it.

I have tickets to the last game of the season, against the Yankees. It might be as exciting, or more so!

My husband had tickets to last Tuesday's game in NY. He was going to take our son. I said he shouldn;t miss another day of school, so he had someone who was going to buy the tickets from him. Who didn't end up buying them. So we have two unused tickets, and it is killing us, and I feel motherly guilt.

That's HORRIBLE! [Frown]

Especially since he had missed Monday because we went out to Ithaca to see music. He was basically OK with missing the game, but when the tickets went unused, that hurt us all.

Oh so THAT's where Flash ended up. He did a stint here in Chicago, right after King released The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. And the guy was a jerk to me and wouldn't sign it. [Frown] [Confused]
