I remember when I was young watching a TV movie about the author of "The Wizard of OZ" called "Dreamer of OZ".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099464/
(In the last year I discovered "Hey I do love Biographys" especially when I found myself watching a biography on Tim Mcgraw when I am not a country fan.)

Anyway has anyone seen the "Dreamer of OZ" aired back in 1990? It starred John Ritter, who sadly passed away last year. I don't remember much about it, except that the Author got the name OZ from looking at a label on a filing cabinet, "O-Z"

I very much would like to see it again, but I have no cable and I heard it was hard to find to buy.

I read the book for the first time at the beginning of february. I have seen some adaptation in animes or movies, but not your "Dreamer of OZ".

You mean you've read the "Wizard of OZ" book? Or a "Dreamer of OZ" book. Anime actually makes OZ cartoons? Oh... I bet they're scary!! [Big Grin]

I read the wizard of OZ. And yes Japanese made an anime.

I did! Cool! I think about it all the time. For some reason, I will always remember that his wife was named Maude, and that is linked in my mind with the color mauve, so I always picture her wearing mauve. I don't know if she was, though.

I saw that movie when I was a cub.
It was very inspirational.

I love the film "Return to Oz".

There were anime films of the Oz books made...I think up to book six, "The Emerald City of Oz".

Unfortunately, the toons were even less faithful to the source material than the MGM film was.

Oh good I'm not alone on seeing Dreamer of OZ. I think it inspired me too.. it blew me away when I found out it aired back in 1990, I thought I was older than 10..

I also liked Return to OZ... I think it made me a little scared of mountains for a little while though... The queen with the heads always scared me.

I saw parts of the movie.

The only thing I remember about it is the O-Z name.

I'm just glad that they didn't stop before Z. What would "The Wizard of Oy" be like?

I love all the Oz books.

I always found it so amusing that L. Frank Baum didn't really want to write the whole series, but he was bullied into doing it by all of his child fans.

If anyone figures out how to get a hold of this movie, please let me know.
