Me and some friends went disco-skating today. What more can I say?

This is now, like, the fourth sprain my right ankle has suffered in the past three years. It's actually different from my last ones--as best I can describe, it's my "outside" ankle as opposed to my "inside". So now my right foot is screwed up equally all around. [Roll Eyes]

As for getting medical attention: this feels as serious as the first time I screwed up my ankle (starting this stupid downward spiral of ankle injuries, I'm sure), but after a late-night call to my parents, we decided that going to the ER would just be an unnecessarily miserable experience, so I'll see what it's like in the morning, and hopefully get an xray at some clinic thats open on Sundays. Aside from that, I know the procedure--Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation.

The ibuprophen has kicked in, so now I'm just listening to my Wicked cd and posting on Hatrack, trying to forget how absolutely uncomfortable my foot is. [Smile]

So, you like Wicked, huh?

I finally got a copy of it, and I was not blown away, but I do like a lot of it. A lot more than I thought I would, anyway.... [Big Grin]

Back when I was in NY for thanksgiving, Wicked was completely sold out, and I thought it was kinda sad. Now that I've heard the music and read up some on the plot, I'm devestated that I couldn't see the show when I had the chance. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get to San Francisco or St. Louis or somewhere that it's gonna be touring. Somewhat unsuccessfully. [Frown]

I listened to it at the suggestion of the girl I went out with a week ago. Yeah...If "Popular" starts popping into my head randomly, I'm probably gonna scream...But probably not, just cause I really like the song [Smile]

sarmup, it's about to become a long-term fixture here in Chicago starring Ana Gasteyer as Elphaba. The current tour (with the NYC cast) is here from April 29 to June 12, then the new cast comes in and starts the open-end run the last week of June. Just a thought... [Razz]

You might want to get an ankle brace. I continually sprained my right ankle until I broke my right foot. After that, they made me get a brace and I haven't had any problems since.

I would actually suggest an aircast(plastic thingy, not a real air cast, I don't think)if it is really bad. You would want a doc to prescribe one, though. They are not cheap. I am an old fart, and sprained my ankle about three years ago. I still wear the air cast at music festivals, or any time I know i am going to be on uneven ground.

When you get to the point where yu can, I know some good exercises which the physical therapist taught me.

The last time I sprained my ankle (about four years ago now), I tore two ligaments and ended up on crutches for a couple of weeks and then in a walking cast for a few more weeks. I still don't have a full range of motion (my fault for not exercising enough), and it pops quite frequently. I highly recommend getting an ankle brace or something else and then doing some sort of physical therapy to strengthen the ligaments. If you don't, your ankle will just keep getting worse.

Good News: it's not a sprained ankle.

Bad News: it's a broken flibia (fiblia?--the small leg bone).

slightly better news: my paranoid streak paid off, for once. [Smile]

I've never sprained anything before

Fibia

And this really could be good news. Bad sprains are worse than breaks because of how long it takes them to heal completely (and because they might never heal completely).
