I'd like to host a Hatrack Picnic at my house this summer. I live in Hanover, PA. By then I will have two "low frills" guest rooms available, a spare bed, and plenty of sleeping-bag space for anyone who wants to stay the night (Fri. or Sat.)

Right now I'm just checking interest. Post if you think you might be able to come and give dates that would be feasible for you. July or August would work best for me.

KarlEd, where in PA are you? I will be going to a wedding in W Pennsylvania in late August. It is oing to be either there or Morgantown, WV. t is Buffalo Gap camp or something?

KarlEd, I would love to come! [Kiss] But alas, the airfare and long travel time dictates that I cannot. I hope you have a great time.

<-- points up to original thread where it says "Hanover, PA". [Wink]

Actually that's about 10 miles east of Gettysburg, 20 miles west of York, and maybe 40 miles south of Harrisburg.

Mapquest says I'm 200 miles from Pittsburg, so that might be a little far, depending on where in W. PA you'll be. (Not too far for me, of course. I'll welcome Hatrackers from anywhere. [Smile] )

I'll be in NYC at the end of October for a conference, and plan on going a little early, renting a car, and covering all those little New England states that I haven't been to yet so I can check them off. [Razz] It's not summer, but is that in the area?

Everything within six hours of driving time is "in the area."

Hmm...yahoo says it is four hours away, but in the opposite direction of Maine. [Frown]

Yeah, Yahoo is right. [Frown] But you're welcome to visit anytime. [Smile]

Maine isn't little. [Razz] The REST of the New England states, however, are tiny. Specially Rhode Island. [Smile]

KarlEd, Leonide and I would definitely come. Fridays and Saturdays are both equally good for us. And other than the 4th of July, I don't think we have any definitive plans for those months.

I'm not sure how far away you are, but it can't be more than a few hours. *just looked it up. google says about 2 hours*

KarlEd,

I live in Franklin, PA and I am almost directly in between Erie and Pittsburgh. I figure I am about 4 hours from you.

My wife is due to deliver a baby July 31st, so I do not know if I could make it. I would be a last minute show if I could. I also have to work every other weekend, so I would suggest not to plan anything around me.

Liz,

If you are anywhere near Pittsburgh, I am about 1 hour 20 and minutes north of there. I am off of Interstate 79 by about 30 minutes, and relatively easy to get to. Let me know when you are coming.

(I tried to email you, but it was blocked by either the user or administrator)

I'd be interested but I don't know my schedule for the summer, yet.

Alucard,
The wedding I am going to is either in Buffalo Gap Camp (Capon Bridge, West Virginia, a small town about 30 miles west of Winchester, Virginia, off of U.S. Route 50. In non-rush-hour traffic the trip takes about 2 hours from the DC or Baltimore area.)
or in Morgantown, West Virginia.

For some reason, I thought it was in Pennsylvania. But I think I would go your way if I were going to Morgantown, or coming back from Morgantown. I will look and see.

Karl, I'd love to come. I'm in South Carolina for school, but I'm from Pittsburgh and visit home frequently in the summer. Saturday anytime is best for me, most likely.

Liz, if you are in Morgantown for that wedding on a weekend, you should let me know when and where. My girlfriend lives in Morgantown and I am always looking for extra excuses to go visit her!

prolixshore, I will definitely be there(OK, mostly definitely) either before or after the wedding, to visit one of my best friends. And it just so happens that this band is playing there. Let me see if I can remember their name. Um, Donna Something. The wedding is August 19, the concert is the 20th, and I have to get back to work a few days after that. Anyway, I figure three of those things in one place is great enough, and it wuold be even greater to add a fourth reason, and a fifth, if I can swing a PA hatrack gethering along the way.

You still thinking about doing this, Karl?

Elizabeth -

You're coming to my neck of the woods! Fun. Morgantown is nice. I used to live there and now just live down the road from it. By the way, don't take Rt. 50 in if you're going to Mo-town. You can see your taillights in some places on 50!

Let me know if you all get that Morgantown Con going. I'm local so I can arrange things easily.

I am, Jay!

I am going to a wedding at Buffalo Gap. (sounds like a neato place)

I am not sure if I will make it down (over?)(up?)because I have to start school pretty soon after that and might need to get home.

Right, I know you’ll have to take 50 to get to Capon Bridge. But I’m saying if you’re going on to Morgantown go back and pick up 522 N to 68 W which will take you straight to Morgantown.
