I'm finding her a delightful writer. We share sensibilities and maybe even the same world, and the manner in which she describes people corresponds with my understanding and priorities, except her prose is written with a keener, more penetrating eye to humanity. There is an honest, clear quality about her, so much so, I feel as if I've found another friend. To tell the truth, she is the first writer since Steinbeck who I feel has written characters strictly for me.

I'm currently reading The Green Knight and I don't want it ever to stop.

Hm. That may be why I disliked Murdoch; I found her people stilted, mannered, and completely improbable.

I love her writing.

And the movie about her was really good too, a little too realistic. My friend ended up making me leaving because I was crying too hard.
