Yeah I rarely post stuff like this, but I've just had a crappy day at work and it isn't over yet. To put it in perspective one of my co-workers over in purchasing said: "Yeah we have a bad day when our fax machine is broken, you have a bad day when you have to worry about radiation leaks."

And because our X-Ray fluoresence machine isn't functioning properly everyone's after my hide even though it isn't my fault it broke, the thing's been limping along on its last legs for a while.

(the radiation leaks aren't serious, it probably isn't leaking and it's not leaking anything terribly harmful if it is, a hunk of metal which we have sitting over the opening is sufficient to block it, But it's not recalibrating itself correctly because the trigger mechanism spring is broken)

But because it isn't reliably ascertaining alloys it is backing up the metal parts inventory for the entire company.

AJ, how crummy!

I hope your day gets better.

(((AJ))) Hang in there, hon. My workplace has the possibility of radiation danger too, but not in any of the parts of the building where I typically have to go. I'm glad yours sounds not-terribly-serious.

I hate to break it to you, but your day was nothing.

These folks are having a bad day at work

Hope your night goes better than your day. (you are in desparate need of some puppy kisses and doggie play time)

Hmm you know I bet the threat of going down and kicking the metal door thingy open would buy you some alone time... and possibly a strait jacket...

*hugs*

Edit: i can't type

AJ, just sit back, relax, and think back... think back... think back to BobnDanaCon, and dancing with me.

See? Today's not so bad now, is it? All things in perspective....

(((AJ))) anyway.

Hey, see if the radiation'll mutate your DNA. You could be an X-Man. X-Woman. X-Person. Cousin It.

At work *after* I posted this I managed to drop a hardness tester and break it. One of those, yes it could get worse scenarios.

I'm hoping my boss can fix it in the morning but I feel even dumber.

I stabbed puppies when I got home though which was kind of cathartic.

(gave them their next set of shots.)

well so far so so today. I've been trying to improve my job performance to make my boss happy. We had a long meeting today. Basically he's not going to be happy unless I come in at 7:30 am regardless of whether I get stuff done or not. The problem is that arriving at 7:30am physically kills me over time. I don't know why. But, every time I've had an early start time at any job it's sent my emotionally and physically into a downward spiral. (which I'm already partially on anyway). So I don't know what to do. I love my job otherwise... and I need it. I guess I'll survive.

*hugs* This is the time to call in the evil twin. Promise her the pick of the puppy litter if she'll go in early for you.

Yeah - you're not exactly a morning person, AJ. Some people just aren't. It is too bad your work doesn't offer a second shift..

I completely agree. I just can't do mornings, no matter how long I get up early for. If I could start at 9 or 10 and work until 5:30 or 6:30, I would.

[Group Hug]

Clearly, the solution is for you and Steve to move to Canada so you and I can start a company and set our own hours.

Yup, I'm a late-schedule person too. It would be nice of your boss could be more flexible. [Frown]

AJ, sorry that everything is weighing on you all at once. Not a nice feeling. It *will* get better.
