When I saw Lord of the Rings, I went solo. No kids, no husband, no friends allowed, not even those I knew loved the books.

I needed to be totally immersed.

So when I read what Belle's daughter said about good moms letting their kids interupt them during their favorite movies, I thought, well, that is certainly not me.

And then I thought about it the other way.

One of the reasons I love my kids so much is that they ask their Dad for stuff when Desperate Housewives is on, because they know how excited I am to see it.

Other than Lord of the Rings(and only the first time I saw them) and Desperate Housewives, I am pretty mellow about answering questions.

You need time to be you as well as "Mom". Total immersion in something you enjoy is neccesary, and that's one of the reasons parents should "tag-team" their kids. You show you are a good Mom by being concerned about it.

(I've also been drawn-in lately by Housewives.)

Well, I'm not a mom, and I don't have kids, but if you call me during One Of My Shows, don't expect an answer.

I mean, someone called me during the Season Finale of Veronica Mars. Did they actually think I'd pick up?

As soon as the show ended, I called back, though.

Hey, what's been happening on DH lately? I'm in college and I work Sunday nights, so I only get to see it when I get home.
