There is a thread over there like this for Hatrack, since it's down all the time. So, I thought I'd start this one here.
quote: Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/sakerive/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 48
Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/sakerive/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 330
Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/sakerive/public_html/forum/db/mysql4.php on line 331 phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
Anyone else?

It did that to me yesterday. I haven't tried it again since.

It's working for me.

Was down. Back up.

It was down. Apparently the database service crashed and needed to be restarted. This happens quite frequently--sometimes multiple times a day--and will continue to be a problem until I switch hosts. As I mentioned on Sakeriver, I'll be switching hosts either when my prepay with Hostony runs out (in August) or when I finish rewriting my content management software, whichever comes first.

Down again!
I think Mike's playing with it.
Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :
Nope, I just have a bad hosting service. Trust me, if I'm going to take the board down, I'll give a little advance notice.
Posted by scottneb (Member # 676) on :
What's you hosting service, so I know to avoid it?
[EDIT] I figured you wouldn't want to answer a question like this on your site.
Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :
Actually, I believe I have mentioned it a time or two over there: Hostony. Avoid them. They suck.
Posted by scottneb (Member # 676) on :
You're right, I remember now.
Thanks.

Sakeriver has been working for me, but I've only been lurking. I haven't been able to log in because my account hasn't been activated yet.
Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :
Did you get the activation email?
Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :
No.
The e-mail should be tigerlily-87 AT juno. It's possible I put it in wrong.

Curses!

Looks like your email is correct in your profile. I would imagine that what happened is that the activation email went into your spam folder or something like that. Anyway, I went ahead and activated your account.

Indeed.

Yup.

And it ate my post. Who is the CP of PR?
Posted by Crown Princess of Pickle Relish (Member # 8019) on :
You don't know? I'm sure I've said it somewhere, both here and elsewhere...

The Cheif Prime of Public Relations?
That's Teal'c

Come to think of it, festivus, I'm not entirely sure who you are, either. Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :
festivus is breyerchic, as she said in the GE thread.
Posted by Crown Princess of Pickle Relish (Member # 8019) on :
GE? Too many abbreviations! Gift exchange, I suppose; I haven't been following that thread at all.
<--Megan. I'm sure I've said it somewhere...

Sorry, I should have made a bigger announcement.
It's mainly so I don't get emails into my personal email account, there are a few other reasons though, that will be revealed in time.

it's back.
