I learned something on Hatrack... and had occasion to use it. The puppies have gradually been given more freedom in the house.

Tonight Pippin managed to find a package of sudafed headache (where he pulled it from we still aren't entirely sure) Given that he'd had a near adult dose of sudafed, we figured we should probably induce vomiting. 2 teaspoons of Hydrogen peroxide and up it all came. How much that little dog managed to pack away in his stomach was something else.

He's considerably thinner now, and no worse for the wear. Doesn't get any more food tonight but I'll make sure he has plenty in the morning.

Yay that you learned something and it works. I'd heard of it, not till around March, but I'd heard of it. Puppies will put anything in their mouths, I had forgotten the chewing thing till I spent a few hours with CC (fugu's puppy for those who don't know) She carried her toy then lost it so used my finger.

Eeeks!

Glad he's doing okay. Sheesh! The things those brainless animals will do! (No, not prejudiced against your dog - I include my fat cat in this comment. [Big Grin] )

Good to know. I will keep that knowledge in mind.

So far mine haven't eaten anything they shouldn't. That I know of. Shadow did have some stomach upset after the de-worming the vet gave her, which was a lot of fun.

I once had a dog eat couch stuffing and when he pooped the poop was still undigested stuffing and it expanded as it came out! By the time he was done the poop was as big as he was! [ROFL]

I had to do this with our Mini Schnauzer. She ate about a cup of M&M's when she was a puppy. (chocolate is toxic to dogs in case you didn't know). We had to trick her into drinking peroxide to get the candy out! Yuck.

I thought it was only dark chocolate that was toxic to dogs.

Poor Pippin! I can't imagine giving either of my dogs hydrogen peroxide - they'd both freak out and it would be a nightmare. You're the greatest, AJ - you're a much better dog mom than me.

Belle, the puppies are adorable. I meant to tell you - you were great about the adoption. I would have been furious and raised holy heck, but you handled it perfectly.

The vet told us that milk chocolate is problematical as well.
