He's lying on the bed in agony from a sore back. He's not sure how he did it, exactly. Poor guy. [Frown]

[Kiss] (((hugs for Jeffie-poo))) Sweetie, if you read this, I posted it just to let you know I think of you even when I'm on Hatrack! See, I really really do love you! Feel better!

Awww! Feel better soon Jeff!

Seriously, folks, he's got a busy couple of weeks ahead of him. Let's all hope he gets better on-the-double!

Aw, poor guy! Feel better, kpc.

Have you tried rubbing tiger balm where it hurts and massaging it in? Or some of that cool-ice stuff? It helps. I prefer the tiger balm, or the local equivalent, Siddhalepa. It tends to help a lot.

We don't keep it around, not being terribly prone to muscle aches, and due to the fact that I often have skin reactions to some of that stuff-- not Tiger Balm, but some of the others.

He did, however, lay on ice, and has now switched to heat. And I kissed him to make it better-- which worked, until it provoked him to move. [Frown]

Have him get out of bed and get moving as soon as he feels able. No lifting or anything like that, of course, but it will heal much quicker if he can get moving around.

Unfortunately, I speak from much experience.

ketchupqueen -- how come you're on Hatrack instead of in there massaging his back?

*snicker*

It will be hard not to since KetchupPrincess always lifts up her arms to be picked up everytime I walk by.

I certainly hope it gets better soon. I figured out that I will probably have 7 interviews in 3 different cities in the span of 1 week.

Well, don't give into the temptation. KQ can pick her up if she needs to be held.

Take good care of your back!

That's great!

Here's hoping you feel all better. [Smile] I actually suspect that the two events are not unrelated.

Except that she doesn't want me to hold her.

She's in her "Abba only" mood. I just changed her diaper and she said, "Abba do it." Then she screamed when I said, "No, Mama has to do it, Abba doesn't feel good." [Roll Eyes]

I hope you feel better, Jeff. Back pain is awful. [Frown]
Good luck on the interviews!

Seriously.... alternating heat and ice can help, but if it lasts more than 4 days... see the Doctor! so many people have hurneated (spelling?) disks or even ruptured disks and they don't even know it until something happens to make them realize that the little pain they felt is a whole lot more than what they thought. You use your back for everything... standing up uses the muscles and tendons and all manner of other "thingies" inside your back just to keep you upright..and to sit and to lay down. Do not let it go on without having it checked out. I know from experience. I couldn't reach my own feet for over 9 months ( and I wasn't pregnant) because of a torn disk and a hurneated disk. I had an epidural cortisone injection, and have had a few episodes since then when I had to be put on steroids to calm the inflammation in my back, and I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone.

I hope KPC feels better soon, but if he doesn't make sure he gets it checked out. After all, KQ does not want to spend 9 months putting his socks on for him does she? (that's what Kwea did for me.) Sending healing thoughts and prayers for excellent interviews and restored back health!

Also it may be best to get him out of the bed...especially if it is a soft bed and on the floor with his feet elevated onto a chair....it looks weird but it relieves a lot of the pressure and helps realign the spine. Trust me...I have had serious back pains my whole life!

Well, he's not in bed right now, he was laying down last night because he was tired. [Smile]

He's going to stay with my dad next week while he interviews, and my dad is an MD. So if he's not feeling better by then, I'll make sure he tells my dad that, and my dad will exam and treat him.

Now that the swelling is down a bit, we can tell a little more about why it's still hurting.

Apparently, it's mostly tension. Poor guy. He's going to take a nice hot bath and see if that helps.
