I just got brave and made the switch to Firefox and now I'm wondering what the best extensions are? I've already downloaded the roboform extension since that's the one thing that was holding me back from making the switch in the first place.

You might. If you're a mac user. Their mac developement team needs to kick it in and fix the goram thing. Its riddled with memory bugs that cause it to freeze up every so often.

I was considering making this topic... but you beat me to it!
I have:

Ad Block - every user should have this extension

Delicious Delicacies - back when Firefox was a bit more "underground" the description for "cookies" in the options menu read: "cookies are delicious delicacies." People got confused, and they changed it to something a bit more normal. This changes it back.

Add Bookmark Here - I have a lot of bookmarks, and this makes organizing them a lot easier...Basically, if you want to put a link into a certain subfolder or sub-subfolder of your bookmarks folder, you go to that folder and there's a phrase "add bookmark here" which does just that.

CuteMenus - Adds icons to your menu dropdowns.

Gcache - Displays a google cache for a page in case it's down or has changed.

Quicknote - Let's you open a notepad either as a floating window, a sidebar, or as another tab. You can copy text there (and it adds the url automatically) and save what you write as well.

GooglePreview - Gives you a website preview in google (and yahoo) searchs. Cuts down my searching time, since I can often tell from the image if it's a site I'm interested in or not. If you have a slow internet connection, this extension might not be a good idea.

StumbleUpon - This is my favorite extension, and a total time-waster. [Smile] A new toolbar is put in your browser, the stumble toolbar, which has a button called "stumble" on it. You click the button and it sends you to a random website that someone else on the web found interesting or cool. You rate that site thumbs up or down (or neither), and Stumble uses that rating when considering what site to send you to next when you click the stumble button. I've found so many awesome websites this way that I never would have without stumble. This is why I have such a large bookmark collection.

Edit: Forgot one!
ForecastFox You put in your zip code and it gives you the weather forcast for right now, and the day in general. Updates every 15 min or so. Useful if you're like me and crawl out of bed, check email, and then wonder what clothes to wear for the day.
