I've been practicing the ASL alphabet today. Last Sunday there was a deaf man at church, and it was so frustrating to not be able to communicate. I've been meaning to learn ASL anyhow, and this was a good kick-in-the-pants to get me started. Hopefully he will come back this week, so I can talk to him. Just as long as I don't discover that he is spelling out Spanish words...then I would be back to square one.

That's the first thing that popped into my mind...
I wish my sign language was better. I tried to teach it to myself but I forgot most of it.

Thanks, Tante. That website is much cleaner and easier to navigate than the one I had found. I've got the alphabet memorized and now I am practicing by finger-spelling everything I see. Looks like I'll have time to learn a few of the other signs before Sunday.
