Father's Greek, mother is Ethiopian I believe.

I might have it backward, though.

That's where his biological parents are from, but he grew up in Rotterdam.

bubb? (that's what I'm going to call your screenname)

Are you saying you don't have the books to look it up yourself, or just that you are too lazy to look it up yourself?

I think she or he is mearly asking which book to look in to confirm the answer, so i'd assume tyhey have the books already.

I think it's mentioned in all the books, isn't it?

Mrs Delphiki was made part Ethiopian in Shadow Puppets because in the original EG short story, proto-Bean is described as a small black kid. When OSC posted the first few chapters of SP on Hatrack for commentary, it came to light that in the novel EG, Bean's nationality isn't mentioned. But Mrs. Delphiki's racial ancestry remained.

That said, I can't remember if she is full or part Ethiopian.

Her mother was an Ibo diplomat, IIRC.

SP, Chapter 4, Page 48 (hard cover edition). “Supposedly I’m Greek, but my mother’s mother was an Ibo diplomat, so… when I go to Africa I look quite Greek, and when I go to Greek I look rather African. In my heart I couldn’t care less about either”.
