I was watching CNN a little bit ago, while I was eating breakfast (there was NOTHING on TV) and they were doing a breakdown of where all the money from each gallon of gas went. They had a sort of list. A 'specialist' on the 'field' was doing commentary on it, explaining it to the news anchor in the studio.
Specialist: The first expense goes to the crude oil prices, which take... (blah blah blah) ...and so the price per gallon for this expense is about a dollar and 48 cents.
$1.479
Then she goes onto the second expense, which I don't remember what it was for.
Specialist: The second expense is for... and that comes out to about 60 cents.
.599ยข $1.479
She SAYS 60 cents, and then the list SHE made shows about 6/10 of a cent. There should be a dollar sign there if the decimal is in front of the 5. No one seems to notice, or at least care, but I see this done all the time! It drives me crazy!
(The specialist does this a couple more times, but since you already got the jist of my rant, I'll stop now)

You poor dear. Lie down in a darkened room with a cool cloth across your brow, and you should start feeling better.

I don't know about the rest of you, but with a topic like this, I'd complain more about the rediculous prices than about the misplacement of a decimal point.
What're gas prices like for the rest of you? In Wisconsin, Milwaukee area, prices for regular are still under three dollars but only by a nickle or so.

Tante, when you do the throat-clearing link post to enlighten a newb, does that make you officially not a newb anymore? Prolific postcount aside, I mean. It just seems like a rite of passage.

I wasn't born yesterday, you know. My birthday is in July.
I don't feel like a newbie anymore. And I've just been itchin' to do the throat-clearing link post, so I could be cool like the rest of you.
