I had avoided reading anything about this BTK killer in Kansas, but I was bored so I started going through the story links on CNN. [Angst] I am now totally disgusted and freaked out! What can you do to protect yourself and your family from such deviants?

simple buy an AK47 and keep a T-34/85 in the backyard and such devients will run run away.

It seems to me that since stress is more statistically likely to kill you and your family, you'd be better off not worrying about it.

That whole event (the sentencing) is taking place two blocks north of where I am at work presently. (I could walk there, if I wanted).

The media coverage you read isn't the half of it. I've been hearing live streaming audio.

There is no human being sicker and more disgusting than this man.

He sickens me- and it goes to prove that you can't tell who the monsters are.

He was just sentenced to 10 consecutive life terms in prison. He will rot.

Rot he will. Good riddance.

Did he really say that he expected his victims to serve him in the afterlife?

I have always wondered how such extreme deviants would respond to cruel and unusual punishent. Sociopaths are detached enough that it seems normal punishment has no effect on them. Perhaps the willingness to inflict such barbarity might be turned aside by an active punisment fits the crime policy. Fortunately, due to the constitution we'll never know if such policy would be a deterrent. But somtimes I wonder. Especially in in cases like the poor girl in Florida and the family in Idaho.
