Narnia.com's latest section includes an interactive map of the world of Narnia. The cave of Mr. Tumnus is the first area to go active. Check it out. [Cool]

I love the flute playing at Tumnus' home. It reminds me of the cartoon movie, only cooler. I'm also glad to see it looks nothing like a Hobbit hole. I was afraid it might.

I can't wait to hear all the music Harry Gregson-Williams has composed for the film!

His instrumental stuff in "Shrek" and "Shrek 2" were quite nice.

I'm wondering how it will compare to the music of other epics, mainly LOTR and Star Wars, Harry Potter to a lesser degree, it's not as epic, but is equally rich. Williams and Shore both produced fantastic, memorable scores. What else has Gregson-Williams done?

And when will the soundtrack be released?

I'll just direct you to his page on the IMDB...suffice it to say, that man has a lots of experience composing film music. (Oooh. Loved his stuff on Chicken Run as well!)

The official film soundtrack release date has not been confirmed. It should be announced soon, though.

One September 25th and October 27th, two albums of pop music "inspired by" the movie will be released. None of them are going to actually be in the film.

Pop music inspired by the movie? How does that work? Are we talking about the kind of songs that were on the soundtracks to the LOTR movies, like "Into The West" by Annie Lennox. Or do you mean Green Day and Celine Dion are going to record songs about Narnia?

Edit to add: I checked his IMDB page, yeah he has done a lot of really good stuff. Kingdom of Heaven is the most recent for me, but others on that list are very good. Yet another reason to get excited about the movie.

I'm not sure. [Smile]

Christian pop artists are recording LWW-inspired songs for the Sept release.

More mainstream pop artists are releasing LWW-inspired songs for the Oct release.

From what I can tell, they'll be about Narnia...though I'm sure that they'll also be general enough to get radio play.

Hm. I'm apprehensive about that. I loved all three of the songs on the LOTR albums. My family wanted to kill me after three days of almost non stop "Into the West" when I first got the ROTK soundtrack.

A whole cd of Christian pop artists I can see (though considering POD and the recently deceased Creed called themselves Christian pop, I don't really know where the line is anymore), but mainstream artists singing about Narnia could be a little silly. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Are there any other cds out there for previous movies of this kind?

I have nightmares of Lindsay Lohan belting out "Enter the Wardrobe of my Heart"...but it'll probably be something different from that.

Hopefully.

And, to more pleasant subject: That cave is gorgeous. I can see a real attempt to bring the flavor of the Pauline Baynes illustrations in...and that pleases me to no end.
