My computer seems to be refusing to go to certain webpages or even certain hatrack threads. For instance, I can get onto my school's main page, but not the library subpage. I can get onto most hatrack threads, but not the Freakonomics one. I can't get onto popcap games at all. [Frown]

And by "not get onto," I mean that the browser starts going to the site, loads the page name onto the top, and often some of the banner graphics (I get the hatrack logo, always), but not the rest of the page. It's like it's operating on a really slow dial-up connection, but the page never loads, no matter how long I wait.

This is happening on both IE and Mozilla. A mac laptop that's plugged into the same internet hub has no problem getting to any of those sites.

Anyone have any ideas? [Confused]

Is it not loading any page that you don't have already in your internet cache (as previously loaded)? Did you already clear all your temporary internet files (internet cache)?

A restart sometimes clears this problem. But you may need a browser update or to check your settings.

I can load pages I've never seen before (such as new threads on Hatrack), but I can't load threads that I viewed on this computer just yesterday (such as the freakonomics one).

I did just clear my cache, with no change.

It also seems that on the pages that load (and they come up pretty quickly), the computer still thinks there's data to transfer. This thread, for instance, seems to have all the data on it, but the little circle in the top right corner is still spinning around, and the bottom is still reading "transferring data from www.hatrack.com..."

This has been a problem the last few days, through several restarts. I have all the software updates for Mozilla, and the same problem exists when I try to use IE. Same websites on both browsers.

I installed all of the Windows updates last night in a futile attempt to solve the problem.
