My nine month old is walking. Or trying to. She took 4 steps yesterday without holding onto anything. Posted by Stan the man (Member # 6249) on :

Uh-oh! Now is the time to re-childproof the house you thought was already childproofed.
Yes, she can get into that. Put it far above her head (and not near any other objects that she can climb, and not on a bookshelf) or behind a locked door.

Yes, we know. We also have a 3 year old. Although they still surprise you with what they can get into.

It's so amazing to see a little baby learning to walk. You wonder how they can possibly balance on those little legs and those little feet when they're still so uncoordinated.

If she's learning to walk at 9 months, she's likely to get into more than your ordinary toddler-- having the coordination but not as much language comprehension and impulse control as the average toddler. Hence my advice. Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :
And I thought this was a birth announcement!
That's awesome, though, whisky, yay! Posted by whiskysunrise (Member # 6819) on :
kq her sister was walking at 9 and a half months. But the advice is a good reminder anyway. Thanks.
