I don't know if I've been missed the last 10 days or so, but I've been away.

I will give more details when I can sit at a computer a little longer at a time, I'm recovering from surgery.

I went in thinking I would need an appendix removed, and wound up getting diagnosed with colon cancer. So, I had surgery to remove the tumor and will be starting chemotherapy as soon as I recover from the surgery.

I'll tell you the whole story when I can, needless to say it was a big shock, I had no family history of the disease and no major risk factors. Right now though, I'm hopped up on pain pills. Details later, much love to all my hatrack friends.

I did notice you were gone, I hadn't seen you post and wanted to tell you something. I dyed the handkerchief you sent me yesterday, it's gorgeous, I also did some wool and cotton yarns, you wouldn't believe the difference in all three colors.
My prayers are with you for a safe treatment and recovery.

(((Belle)))

Please keep us posted on your progress. Have they told you much in terms of the success of the surgery in removing the cancer? Are you going to go through chemo and/or radiation?

If you went in over the weekend, had they already run a biopsy and found cancerous cells? I didn't think they could run a biopsy so quickly if you just presented with pain this weekend as your first visit.

Anyway, good luck and I hope your recovery from surgery is rapid and that you get good news from the doctors regarding prognosis.

I did notice you were gone, and just figured you were busy with life. I didn't imagine anything like this!

I wish you a fast recovery and good health. You are in my prayers. *hug*

Whoa - well thank goodness they found it! Good luck, keep us all posted on anything we can do to help. You know, send you lists of cheesy movies and good books, tasteless jokes, sugar cookies, male strippers . . . oh wait. Maybe not those. Unless that would make you laugh. [Smile]

(((Belle and family)))

Thanks for letting us know how you are dear. [Frown] We have missed you. My prayers are with you and your family.

Would you feel comfortable emailing me or someone else your home address to distribute to those who may want to send something along to you?

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

I have her home address if she says she wants it distributed, I'd feel fine doing that. So Belle post, and I'll email it to those who want it. (unless narnia really wants to, I just think I'm less busy than her)

Oh, Belle.

I am so very sorry you have to go through this. You will be in my prayers.

That's pretty heavy, Belle. I knew I hadn't been seeing you. But I figured it was because of a combination of me missing your postings because I don't tend to peek into certain contentious threads after the first page or so and you taking some time off (which you recently mentioned as a possibility) to reconfigure your life, what with discovering that continuing school was a good option.
So it's kind of a shock to hear that not seeing you was the result of a more serious matter.

Frankly, I don't know what to say. Which is why I haven't posted in "I've got personal bad news" threads when I can't offer a tidbit of useful information. Even though I do care, very much so.

Sorry for the bad luck.
Yet, I have confidence that you will prevail over this obstacle. You've done so for all the other crisises in the four years I've known you. It'll be the same this time.

Keep in touch. And keep upbeat, there's still your college graduation party to throw.

Bob - 10 years ago when they did surgery on me for what they expected to be cancer, they actually sent the tumor down to the lab for immediate biopsy/evaluation while I was still under anesthesia so they could assess immediately whether they needed to take out more than just the tumor. Luckily, it was benign, so nothing more needed to be done. I'm assuming they did something like that for Belle.

You'll be in my family prayers from here on out and I'll add you to our church's prayer chain. For the kids and Wes and you. I'm so sorry you're going through this.
