She has a problem.

She has gotten the idea to make some magnetic bracelets/necklaces using magnetic hematite beads. These are very fun and nice looking bits of jewelry that do not need a clasp. You wrap it around your wrist, or your neck, and the magnetic hematite is strong enough to hold it in place.

The problem is that the magnetic Hematite that she bought isn't strong enough for a good hold.

Anyone of our brilliant science/engineer people know how to boost the magnetic power of hematite beads?

Will they be worn around computers or wallets? Cuz, ya know, there be problems with magnets and them there things that do stuff... [Razz]

Well, I don't want them that powerful. They shouldn't be a choking hazard whenever walking under a steel girder.

Oooh! Image! That's a great one, Dan! Suicide by jewellery...

(And no, I have no constructive ideas. Sorry.)

Hematite Magnets

This page is guesswork, but hey, you never know.

Hematite won't hold a strong magnetic charge for long, but you might be able to make it slightly stronger by letting it sit against or on top of a much stronger magnet.
