"Studio Ghibli has officially announced that their next feature film will be Gedo Senki (Gedo War History), directed by Hayao Miyazaki's son, Goro Miyazaki. The film will be an adaptation of Ursula K Le Guin's "A Wizard of Earthsea," and will be released in the Japanese theatres in July 2006."

The Studio Ghibli website has artwork up already.

Sweetness! Sweetness! Sweetness! If nayone can handle the material and make a beautiful film its definately Studio Ghibli. I ad heard rumor a while back, it's awesome to know this will happen for real. Does anyone know what LeGuin thinks about it? Is hse involved at all? We all know how she felt about SciFi's attempt and eventual butchering of the book.
