Except that it plainly says French Instructor on the ones shoulder device. First picture.

It says "French Instructor" in English?

that one guy is wearing a Lance Armstrong bracelet thingy too. Is that a popular fad among the French?

It is a support band, but does not necessarilly have to be a Lance Armstrong support band. However, if I really cared I would use photoshop to sharpen and zoom in. You got a point about the french instructor written in english, but then it could just be U.N. trainers. Especially since I am not seeing any flag or patches to signify country.

Are UN forces in the habit of not wearing UN insignia?

Personally, I don't know. I just know I wish that the UN would go away.

Really? Why?

Some people thinks it says "Firearms Instructor"

Zooming in using Gimp, I'm almost certain that it doesn't say firearms instructor. That said, I'm not entirely sold on it being "French Instructor" either--it's not clear enough for me to tell. It certainly seems like a strange insignia to wear, but it wouldn't surprise me.
