Do I sense people don't like the current cover? [Smile] Has any DVD had replacement covers made for it? Why doesn't Joss just get volunteers to make his next movie?

Oh wow, those are sweet

What I wish they would do is let us buy stock in the next movie. This one cost $40 milion to make, right? I'd kick in $100 to get a sequel, or even better another season of the TV show. Sell shares at $20 per. I wouldn't necessarily expect to make a profit, although it would be nice, but I'd be happy if the show got made and I got 80% of my money back. Having the show would be worth "losing" 20 bucks. The bookkeeping wouldn't be too fun, but it shouldn't be too hard, either.

That is an awesome idea! I'd probably kick in at least $100!

I'd rather he continued the TV series than make another movie. I thought that the short shows were more gratifying.

I just want either of them but I would like the series more I think as there could be more of them then movies.

That is an interesting idea. Does anybody have an idea of what it costs to make a season of a television show like Firefly?

There's a bunch listed here.

I'll pledge $50 for a new season, me.

I believe the episodes were running over a million each, which was one reason FOX was skittish about them.

Persoanlly, I think they should do an animated series.

The right animation style would work, the writing and dialogue has always been one of the main strengths, and it would be easier to get and keep the original actors if they only had to do voice work.

My wee morning hour musings on whether the film should have a different title.

You know, I saw a fanzine in the grocery store. It was really puzzling. It had a blurb for an article on the SFX. [Confused] Not one of the movie's strong points.

It's too bad Wash is dead, he does a lot of animation voice acting.

I don't get the replacement cover thing. If I don't like the original, then I'm certainly not going to replace it with something that an amateur threw together with Photoshop.

Yeah, I've seen A Knight's Tale several times, but never after I had seen Firefly or Serenity. Then on New Year's Eve I saw a very small snippet of it on TV and saw Tudyk's character for a split second and thought, "Was that...?! Oh my gbosh! I didn't know he was in this movie!" I was going to keep watching to make sure, but they had just gotten into a fairly long flashback and food was ready so...

Some of the designs that have been whomped up don't look amateurish. Check out this one by the artist that illustrated the Serenity role-playing game.

Wash also appeared in an episode of Arrested Development, which made my day. Combining the funniest part of one show (Wash) with the worlds funnieste show (Arrested Development) made my day.

He was also the pirate guy in Dodgeball, and the robot in I, Robot.

As for the cover, I do not see anything wrong with it. What are people complaining about?

I'd love 25 hour-long shows every year a lot more than 1 two hour-long movie every 2-3 years.

Wash was Sonny?

I am so in love with Sonny.

Hamson, perhaps it is because I'm tired but I had to read your post three times before I could figure out what you were saying.

And I agree.

Can't speak for everyone, but I hated the cover because:

-- The pic of River is an overPhotoshopped idiocy. She's not glamorous, that's the point. She's a young, mentally disturbed, violently dangerous girl, not a Cosmo cover.
-- When exactly was there a rampaging army of Reavers? I missed that.
-- All the great reviews from big name critics -- two thumbs up, even -- and the best they could find to put on the cover was from the San Francisco Chronicle? Why not just write "B-Movie" across the top?
-- No western feel to it at all. Maybe apersonal preference, but I liked the folksy feel of the show. This could also be why I prefer the show's soundtrack to the movie's.

No offense, but I find that one a lot uglier than the real one.

No worries. Tastes differ.

Which is, of course, why some people feel the need to replace the cover, while I don't. [Smile]
