I got this one in an email ... no funny stuff, it's just interesting trivia.

Passing requires 4 correct answers - and no Googling!

quote:
1) How long did the Hundred Years War last?

2) Which country makes Panama hats?

3) From which animal do we get catgut?

4) In which month do Russians celebrate the October Revolution?

5) What is a camel's hair brush made of?

6) The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?

7) What was King George VI's first name?

8) What color is a purple finch?

9) Where are Chinese gooseberries from?

10) What is the color of the black box in a commercial airplane?

No Peeking!

Just look below...

I got the October Revolution. Was that in Enchantment or something? They needed to ask some questions I've seen on Bugs Bunny. That's where I get most of my history from.

I knew three of those, two due to history classes I've taken. These types of quizzes are always fun though. [Smile]

Booyeah! I knew 5.

But only because I've taken a quiz very nearly like that one before.

But still, I knew 5!

Good one! I must reread that book (again!)

I knew the catgut, Canary Islands, and I got the black box off of the news sometime in the dim past.

When these questions were asked at a singles event I went to a month ago, I was the only one in the room who knew where Chinese gooseberries were from (and what they are).

Which reinforced the notion that I probably didn't actually want to date any of those people. [Wink]

Among other places. I think I first read about it in a Star Trek novel. [Big Grin]

Ouch.. I only got the October revolution and the black box.

On the other hand, I've never heard of Panama hats, purple finches, or Chinese gooseberries before.
