So I finally went see a specialist because I feel like the Toxic Mold Death Plague is getting ready to invade my lungs again.
He flushed out my ears and sinuses, which was rather painful. Then he gave me some kind of crazy something-mycin antibiotic which, miraculously, hasn't made me sick yet (erythromycin makes me puke). And lots and lots of Zyrtec. He said if I start feeling worse or just don't get better, I should come back in immediately.
So I go in to school. The walk from the parking lot to the library makes me feel like I've just sprinted several miles. I start sweating. My muscles feel week. I make it to class, assignment in-hand, and the professor says, "You're sick. Go home. Go sleep for a few days."
When I get home, I realize that my eye is hurting a LOT. I didn't think much of it before because my eyes often get itchy when I'm having allergic reactions. But my eye starts to ACHE, and it starts getting gooey. Well, great. I call a random eye center I drive by every day, and they tell me to come in immediately.
Hooray, I have pinkeye! What's even better, I don't own a pair of glasses. So I get a new prescription for glasses and pick out some frames. Hopefully, they'll be here soon, but until then, I'm living life with one useful eye. This makes parallel parking rather difficult. I have to go back in to the eye doctor on Friday for a follow-up.
I'm so tired. I treated myeslf to another Law and Order DVD set. I think I deserve it.
/whine.

Man that sucks. Get some sleep and feel better! I haven't had pink eye since I was a little kid, but I remember it not being fun. Let alone being on antibiotics for heaven knows what

(((hugs))) Feel better soon! Law & Order cures many things, but I don't know how it is on pinkeye.

I feel your pain. I, however, am using X-Files (currently on season 3) as my painkiller. I can see Law & Order being effective as well, however. I hope you feel better soon.

(((hugs))) It could be worse. At least you still have two eyes, right?

I just need to point out the . . . whatever it is . . . that your body is falling apart, yet the one thing in this life you want is a cd-burning program that doesn't fink out in the middle of the burn. Personally, if I were you, the one thing I'd want is a body that is not falling apart. But hey, that's just me.

This is true. Hmmmm. Perhaps I should reevaluate my priorities.
The pharmacy doesn't have one of my prescriptions in stock. They said they haven't received a shipment of it in over a month. And they refuse to call other pharmacies. Tomorrow, I'm going to go back in there and demand the return of my prescription so that I might take it elsewhere.

Threaten to cough on them if they don't.
Sounds like someone needs some chicken soup. Feel better, sweetie!

I'll rub my virulent eye and then wipe my fingers all over the counter! That'll show 'em!

Does hydrogen peroxide kill pinkeye?
Not that I'm going to pour it in my eye, but I'd like to salvage these contacts. I clean them in peroxide solution. Will they be okay to wear again?

Check with your eye doctor, although I'm supposing that the regular disinfecting process, um, disinfects.
Good instincts about not putting the peroxide in your eye. Also, avoid spraying in Lysol, even though it claims to kill germs. I'm fairly certain that it also kills eyeballs.

Well, I remember being told when I got pinkeye for the first time, way back when I was twelve and didn't yet know that I was allergic to regular contact disinfecting solution, that Opti-free and other no-rub type solutions won't kill the pinkeye virus.
I'd think that peroxide would, though.
...oh, I'm NOT supposed to put Lysol in my eye? Well, that would explain the...fizzing and excrutiating pain...

A strong goldenseal tea kills pink eye. I have used it on my eyes and soaked my contacts in it with good results. Just be sure to soak the contacts for at least 24 hours in your regluar solution afterward.

I feel for you. I'm having trouble with my prescriptions too. I need four months worth to go abroad with, and they're only going to give me three.
