I looked everywhere and no one had a topic on this. I'm shocked! If there is one... sorry... I looked I swear!

Did anyone get the Chronicles of Narnia DVD? How do you like it? I enjoyed it immensly.
I'm just a little disappointed that there are no deleted scenes. They could have had one with more of the Coronation Party.
The bloopers are awesome! I love the [Laugh]

I would have liked to have seen more of the making of, something on going from the book to a script, creating some of the creatures, some of the artwork, you know basically all the stuff on the bonus LOTR disks. I would have liked to have some deleted scenes but the books aren't that long so I don’t think they left that much out. It might not need an extended edition. Now Harry Potter 4 is definitely a movie that could use an extended edition.

I was so disappointed after I watched this movie. It was incredibly slow, lacked any cohesive narrative, and was visually unimpressive.

Why did they rename Fenris Ulf to Magrim??
They kept everyone elses' names the same.

Blame C.S. Lewis, Teleperion. Fenris Ulf's name was originally Maugrim, was changed to Fenris Ulf for older U.S. editions of the book, then later changed back again to the original. [Smile]

Except CS Lewis himself changed the name from Maugrim to Fenris Ulf. Why change it back when the author made the decision?

It was changed for the U.S. edition only, mostly because Lewis wanted to experiment with more Nordic myth references.

(The Witch in the older version of the U.S. Edition makes reference to the Deep Magic being written on "The side of the World Ash Tree"). He never changed in in future editions of the UK version of the book, so it doesn't seem that he had a strong preference either way.

I suspect there will be a special edition with more features (The Making Of, etc.), after we all go out and buy this one. In fact, in the audio commentary, the director made some reference to restoring a scene at some future time (I don't recall what, exactly, but the kids were complaining that it was taken out).

There is going to be a special extended cut released, probably around November. This seems to be in keeping with the tradition started by Lord of the Rings. I expect that there will be further information on the making of etc, when that edition comes out.

If you buy the sound track, there is a bonus disk that has some nice features on it. Plus i loved the instramentals, i reccomend that you buy the cd if you want some great "thinking" music.

I enjoyed it, I didn't get to see it in theaters. My kids did see it in the theater and they were very excited for the DVD so they could see it again.

They've watched it twice now and just asked if they could watch it again.

I think we've watched this DVD 4 times since it came out. My three year old (in June) loves "The Lion Movie" as he calls it. The visuals are amazing especially the battle scene. Incredible!!! I remember watching it in the theatre and there were teenagers sitting behind us and you could tell that they were there just for the battle sequence!

Nahhh..... It's done really well. Most from a distance.
I thought they did a good job of following the book too.
