I'm off to Paris in about an hour! I'm pretty excited, even though I've got a notice from the American Embassy in my wallet, warning me about the riots, and giving me their phone number "just in case". [Razz]

Oh lucky you! I'd love to go to Paris. Of course, I'm going to be in NYC, OH, IN, and CA all within the space of a month, so I can't complain about a lack of travel.

I haven,t read anything about any riots in a few weeks. Now that Villepin and Chirac pretty much gave in to the demands and revoked the CPE, there ain't much to worry 'bout. Except pickpockets [Smile]

Of course this isn't to say there won't be a NEW law to demonstrate against, causing new riots. Rule of thumb: when the guys with little shield logos that say "CRS" show up, that's when to make your exit.

Oh, and have fun! I don't know your flexibility; but if you get a chance while you're here to catch the TGV to Angers (west from Gare Montparnasse), I'd love to show you around. Can't guarantee you'd have a place to stay, though the streets are pretty safe even at night [Wink]
