This evening, I was feeling . . . well, the best word for it is ugh. You know those days: depressing and boring. Nobody's around, so I can't spend time with someone to take me out of myself. And I can't drive, so . . .

As I'm sitting outside, I realize we got a lot of concrete out by our pool. And you know, I want to do something that I've never done, at least in a long while. Thus it came to be that I walked down to Walgreens, bought a box of 15 colors of chalk, and returned as it was getting dark to begin work.

Now the area around my pool is covered in drawings and writing. I drew a bizarrely colored tree . . . the Uffington White Horse and Wilmington Mound (since these are made of chalk, I find it only fitting . . . a few weird little creatures of animals stuck together . . . and the leftover chalk was employed in copying out The Raven by the diving board.

I am very happy. I've spent three hours on my hands and knees scraping up my palms (had to bandage myself), and I am as happy as can be. I only wonder my family's reaction when they get home.

Glad that you're feeling better. [Smile]

Seen this guy before? Different images here.

If you like sidewalk chalk drawings, this is really cool.

EDIT - if you don't mind posting up pictures, I'd love to see them.

It IS good therapy! I've been coloring this week for meditation and relaxation, and it's been fun.

I'd love to see photos of your masterpiece! [Smile]
