Got two books I want ready to order -- "Writing for Comics With Peter David" by (duh) Peter David, and "Sethra Lavode" by Steven Brust (been on a Brust kick and am swooping through his entire works in a big gulp; this is the last of his I'll need). But I'm 4 bucks short of getting free shipping! Help!

Frankly I rarely need help finding things to buy there, but I'm curious what everyone here thinks I should buy. So I'm opening up the floor. What should I get? Over $4, under $15.

This is $16, and it's great. This is $15, and almost as good. [Smile]

Also, if you don't already own this, it's very good. $9.

Look no further.

Wow - I can't believe you don't already have a wish list a mile long!

I do -- I always click on things and put them on my wish list. Then when I actually have an order to place, if I'm a bit shy of free shipping, I bop over to my wish list and pick one item to treat myself with!

For the most part, items on my wish list are those that were too expensive to impulse-buy (the Calvin and Hobbes collection, the Palm T|E, the Complete Monty Python DVD set, etc). There is an item or two I can move over, but I'm curious to see what people here suggest for me.

I just finished reading this, and thought it was very good.

If you haven't seen this, you're missing out.

JT's right -- that movie is awesome. [Big Grin]

Not in your price range, but for anyone who cares, 24 season 1 is only $20 right now.

This is eleven bucks, and looks like fun. This didn't have great reviews, but you can't beat the title.

Both of those were in my 'recommended for you' section.

You could buy what I just bought. It is so awesome. But, uh....it is sometimes activated by sounds other than clapping and at inopportune moments.... [Blushing]

So not only was this Mayfly never deleted, but you never told us what you bought. [Mad]

[Wink]

Ultimately I caved and paid the postage, as it worked out to cheaper than anything I was looking at. Never fear, Amazon will get me again very soon...

Sandman comics! If you already got them, do the Lucifer followup. I admit that it is atheist propaganda, but it's very good, entertaining atheist propaganda.

Got 'em all, as they came out and in the collections. And I've already preordered The Ultimate Sandman #1 from Amazon, although it remains to be seen if they'll honor the $19.95 price that was listed when I ordered it.

Certain things you may assume I already have or will quickly get. They include anything by Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, our esteemed host, Spider Robinson, Robert B. Parker, Jennifer Crusie, Peter David, Allen Steele, John Varley. Those are the ones I tend to buy in hardback.
