Yup. Some of the work of Tex Avery, Max Fleischer, and certain other old animated shorts that had entered into the public domain were purged by YouTube along with the ones still copyright protected. Many of them were ones I hadn't seen broadcast on TV in more than a decade, and have never been released on DVD. VHS versions are don't exist or are worn out from years of use.

If these legally free cartoons were put on a hi-res DVD, I'd snatch 'em up in a moment.

On the other hand, one can still watch DiC cartoons posted on YouTube. And they're still under copyright.

How...odd. [Grumble]

Animation studio. Famous for producing animation that's cheap and limited even by TV standards. [Smile]

DiC, whose record is pretty spotty, yes, but there are a few good shows in there.

YouTube purges cartoon shorts...IFilm and GoogleVideo to stage intervention in hopes of saving tragically bulemic video provider.

A few good shows...drowning in an ocean of bad ones.

(DiC's Swamp Thing animated series alone made Captain Planet look subtle and realistic!)

Hey, they had a few good cartoons. Yes, the quality sucked, but they were good shows! [Razz]

Wow, I didn't realize how many of those shows they did. I watched so many of those. I distinctly remember after each show, the little kid voice saying "DiC."

It always made me laugh a little bit.

P.S. Thanks for getting the theme song from "The Littles" stuck in my head. [Grumble]

I enjoyed C.O.P.S. and the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. Oh, and Dinosaucers although I seem to be the only one on that.
