Carefully, and with alot of hoping and wishing.

like my vid card has 2 slots for moniters and one round hole thingy, Ive found a wire that can connect to it that splits into 3 wires colour green, red and blue.

I put them into the red yellow white wires and nothing happens.

i have anoter wire that is the same yellow pointy thing on both ends and can plug into the B/G/R wires.

And finally I have a black wire that has these wiered things in it.

Like all I wanna do is avoid the need for a vcr iether have an lcd screen play as a tv or avoid he use of a vcr by sing the computer as a vcr and oututting to tv.

Blayne, can you clarify what you're trying to do? It sounds like you want to connect your PC's video-out port to your PS2 for some reason.

What I don't understand is why you'd want to do that, since that'd be unsuitable for either of the two purposes you list at the end of the last post.

What you really want to do, if I'm understanding you correctly, is play movies on your computer and have them display on your TV. Is that right?

sorta' the thing is the only spare VCR in the house is broken, and I have a PS2, and I need it next to my computer because thats where the closest ethernet connection is. Now with the vcr broken I cant connect the PS2 to the TV so I need something to replace the VCR.

I was thinking if I could connect the PS2 to my computer or my LCD moniter it would work.

If I just connect my LCD moniter via USB to the PS2 would that work?

My other idea is to somehow connect the PS2 to my computer and have some option to load the PS2 on my computer screen through some video card related program but I dont really know what I'm doing however.

Why can't you connect your PS2 to your TV without a VCR?

(Note that it's possible to connect your PS2 to your computer in two different ways, by the way. You can buy an adapter that'll connect the PS2 to your LCD monitor directly for around $50. You can also buy a video card with a video-in port; I often recommend the ATI All-in-Wonder. You cannot connect your LCD monitor to your PS2 over USB alone.)

Maybe he has an old television with only coax in.

cuz the wires sticking out of the PS2 are the 3 coloured ones and the TV only has the connection for Cable tv so I'ld need to connect my PS2 to my VCR then have a wire going from it to the TV but the VCR is on the fritz and my brother is using the only other TV-VCR cable I have.

The green, red and blue wires are component video; the red and white wires are L/R audio, and the yellow wire is composite (RCA) video. They are not intercompatible. They're color coded for a reason, dude!

That's S-Video. From what you've described, neither your TV nor your PS2 has an S-Video out (or in for that matter).

Short of using the adapter Tom mentioned, this isn't actually possible. The wires you're describing on both the PS2 and the video card are outputs.

Edit: You could also use an RF Modulator

I thought you meant "PS/2" and was wondering why you still have a PS/2. [Dont Know]

Just get a cheap 3-wire/coax adapter. That should work.

i think i have an rf modulator somewhere time to look.

Jeez... so much effor tto play video games.

Okay new problem, or rathe rold problem, i do have a VCR and like I said its on the fritz but wondering if its fixable, the problem iwth it is that the sceen is blue and stays blue even if we turn on a system we can make out say the Playsation logo but there is such a blue tint to the screen we cant see anything can this be fixed?

You can buy a new VCR cheaper than it will be to try and fix that, to be honest.
