I'm selling chocolate to raise money for my soccer team. I go door to door around my neighborhood, and sell it. My best friend is also selling the chocolate. As I was walking, I started wondering, which of us could sell more chocolate? My friend is also my complete opposite, so I was curious, and decided to ask the Hatrackers.
Who would you rather buy chocolate from?
Person A
Small, perky, dark skinned girl, with long black hair. Wearing a short skirt and a tank with lots of make-up. Talking on cell phone until she rings the doorbell.
Person B
Tall, sweet, light skinned girl, with short brown hair. Wearing a baggy shirt and basketball shorts, no make-up. Talking to the kids next-door before she heads to the next house.
I don't know if it matters, but it's World Finest Chocolate bars at $1 each.

Person B would be more likely to get my business selling anything-- tall and light-skinned don't matter, but the lack of makeup and modest clothing do make a difference, although I'd prefer that people trying to sell me stuff dress just a tad nicer.
However, the fact that it's World's Finest makes me very unlikely to buy; I only bought one from the neighbor boys. That's some nasty chocolate. If your school sold See's, though, I'd definitely buy from person B. Might buy from person A if she was polite, but would shake my head over the cell phone and the clothes.

All of the money is going to the same cause. I do understand that there are insentives for selling the most, a portion of your profit goes to your actual fund, the top seller gets a prize, whatever, but I'd just buy from whoever was first. Neither girl went to extremes to impress me, both appear to be coming straight from school, I don't have any preference.
I was the top seller in my high school orchestra for two years mostly because I went directly to the alumni's parents who missed the chocolates, the tickets for events, and the general atmosphere.

I do hope you are only selling to people you know. I'm sure you wouldn't want to put yourself in any unnecessary danger (wearing that short skirt and tank).
I'd probably be more likely to buy from the girl who looks like she needs my help (not the one chatting it up on her cellphone.

It would honestly depend more on the cause (soccer team MAYBE) and the brand of chocolate. I personally hate all chocolate except dark chocolate and hersheys syrup.
If you offered me to buy a chocolate bar towards cancer research and it was a milk chocolate bar, I probably would send you away honestly, no matter how desireable the seller was.

Loaded question because I won't buy anything from door-to-door salespeople, even kids I know from the neighborhood. In fact, our schools and clubs tell kids that d2d selling is absolutely prohibited for fundraisers because of the potential safety issues.

I haven't been able to consume mint chocolate ANYTHING for three years. The last thing I ate before I was taken to the ER for possibly ulcer-related vomiting was...a York peppermint patty.
I think alcohol would be much better with salty food. Tortilla chips, Ritz mix, and Goldfish crackers.

Let me ask this: are either of these degenerates willing to put any real effort into selling their candy? If one of them offered to wash my car or sweep up the sidewalk, I'd be a lot more interested in buying some candy.
There's no difference between the candy itself, so I need some value-add if I'm going to decide between the two. Otherwise, I'll just go online and get a free sample of Belgium chocolate with my purchase or some other tasty treat.
The customer is king. Any salesperson who doesn't remember that doesn't get my money... Unless she's selling Thin Mints.

Yes, I am person B (shoot me if I ever decide to look like my friend. Nothing really wrong with it, just, not the clothes I'd wear... ever)
I only go door to door on my street, three or rour houses to the right and left, and ditto across the street. Our families are pretty close, so I'm safe.
