I can't imagine how hard it would be for me to have a daughter murdered, wait 10 years with nobody having been found, then have my hopes raised by the false lead of a disturbed man claiming to be the killer.
I can't really blame the prosecution for trying. They had a man who seemed to know more than the average person about this sort of thing, claiming to be the killer. Investigators have found their man/woman off of slimmer leads than that.

The father actually said that he hoped people wouldn't pre-judge Karr, because he knew what it was like to be falsely accused. So I think he was keeping a pretty even keel about it.

You think it might be possible that Karr had contact with the killer and knew details of the crime that way - and that he just adopted those details and claimed he did it himself?
He is involved with child pornography and is a pedophile, so is it possible that he had some other pedophile contact that told him of the crime?

I suppose if being just-plain-creepy was a crime, then he'd be in a lot of trouble right now.
