If Freewebs could import all my hatrack posts the way it imports xanga, livejournal, myspace, and blogger posts. Of course, they might assent to the idea with a few requests, only to find their system crushed by the weight of it. But there aren't that many of us.
I don't know if Freewebs really is better or if I just got suckered in by the panda bear stationery. But just a couple of days ago I was griping about how I couldn't imagine any new blog/network software suckering me in (I was barfing in particular over MSN's planned offering) but I stumbled onto Freewebs while registering for an online writer's conference and I'm totally geeking out over it.
It's more userfriendly that geocities without being as dumb as myspaces. Of course, right after that I saw Livejournal Horizon. But in the end, I think it's the panda that's got me. The Horizon page doesn't seem as customizable.
I think in the end, the blog/networking someone likes will wind up depending on their personality quite a bit. Well, I know this seems like a commercial for Freewebs, but really I'm hoping folks would be interested in encouraging them to open up the blog importation to forums posts.
