I just had my motherboard switched out and instead of nice clear music, like with my old one, now I've got some soft popping going on every time I play music or the video games. I updated my audio driver, rearranged my cables, and checked out PCI latency tools, but the first two didn't work and the PCI tool had me running at 32. Which I gather is not an issue.

You people rule, and I really want to listen to popless music and clear gamey ambient noise. Help?

When I had that sort of popping noise (which drove me up the wall), I complained to gateway and they replaced my sound card and that fixed it.

At the very least, you might try taking your sound card out and then putting it back in.

I think it's integrated into the motherboard. Switching that piece out again would supersuck.

maybe try getting a stand alone sound card, and see if that helps.

I've never been a fan of soundcards that are built into motherboards.
