This afternoon we had a fight and right in the middle of it, I heard a 'bang'. I went outside to look and found out it was a bird. It had broken its neck by flying too hard against the window. A tiny brown bird with a soft-yellow belly. Dropped dead on our doorstep.

Well, the fight is over for now, but I am a little bit worried...

An enemy has fired a warning shot across your bow, so to speak. This poor bird got in the way at that exact instant and absorbed the shock. Because the message didn't get through, however, you can expect your enemy to persist and issue stronger warnings.

Gradually, larger and larger things will come crashing into your windows. Pigeons, cats, piles of dirty laundry, the UPS guy, hang-gliders, the top 50 floors of the Empire State Building -- one never knows.

Fortunately, if you keep your windows closed, none of this stuff will actually get in.

I recommend buying an economy size bottle of window cleaner and a decent squeegie (not the crummy kind they sell in the grocery store -- a REAL one!).

This will not only ward off the pending evil curses, but will give your neighbors something to admire as well.

Another thing that might help is putting some stickers on your windows. Something that the poor birds can see when the light is hitting the windows just right.

Thank you so much for your advice Bob! I used the window cleaner as incense, which worked very well.
I put the stickers on while the window was still wet, but this works even better! The glue makes nice rainbows on the windows, at least that's what I saw after burning the window cleaner.

If the enemy persists, I'll collect the things I'll find in the garden from now on, and post here what I found, maybe you can help me figure out what the message is.

Yeah, but it was just so wrong, and random, and now it will remain a mystery to those who missed it and have no idea how I misconstrued the original post.
