I need some help finding the title of a book that I vaguely remember reading as a kid so I hope someone here can help me. The basic plot of the book (I could have this a little wrong) is about a family who buys 100 acres of land (could be more or less) but gets swindled and ends up with only 1 acre in a swamp (or marsh, bog, something like that). I think the 'swindle' was the 100 acres were stacked vertically? Anyway, the family ends up growing these huge vegetables from their little acre of ground. I think that is how the book went, it has been many many years since I read it. If you can offer any help I would greatly appreciate it!

You didn't like the answer I gave you the last time you posted this??
I couldn't find that one and I got an error when I submitted it. I thought it never made it on the site.
Thank YOU, Rivka!!! Thank YOU, Rivka!!!
I am saying it twice since you helped me twice even though I was too dumb to find my own topic...which if you think about it is rather ironic in this case.... Whew, now I can ease up on this obsession! You are the BEST!

I loved the McBroom books when I was kid. There's more than one of them.

Yup, there's a whole bunch. And two sets of three were reissued together in single volumes.
