I really hate junk email. My filter catches a lot of it, but for some reason I get a couple messages a day offering to sell me Viagra. Of course they always spell it wrong, so my filters can't catch it.

Seriously, I am 26 years old...I don't need Viagra, and if I did I certainly wouldn't buy it from some sketchy online source.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to filter them out. The automated filter doesn't catch them all (it does catch some though), and since they use different senders and spell different words incorrectly in each message (and link to different websites) I can't for the life of me figure out how to manually filter them.

All I know, is I am seriously getting sick of getting a couple of these messages a day.

I also am in no need of breast enhancement nor do I want to give out my account and routing numbers to some rich guy in Nigeria.

And the combination of Breast Enhancement and Viagra is right out.

Personally, I am not in the market for a larger doodle and young women who enjoy the taste of uh.. something my body doesn't make... are also out of the question.

I know I abhor the term "There oughtta be a law" but there really should in this case. It is both fraud and harassment. These people need jail time.

And while we're at it, let's have a federal "Do Not Junk Mail" law for the snail mail. I wonder how much legitimate mail got tossed becuase it was mixed in with the junk. I'll never know. But we'll never get a Do Not Junk Mail list because the mass mailings prop up the postal service.

The problem is the amount of email that comes in from overseas.

The most numerous spam I get these days is for replica rolex watches (and various other types of time telling devices).

Yes, it truly is a blight upon humanity.

What a great idea for a web-comic.

"The Spaminator."

Leo Sputz goes beserk after opening his 300,000th add for Canadian Penny Stocks. Downing a handful of VGra and CCls he becomes the Spaminator, a Hulk like vigilante who is on a manic desparate quest to find the creators of this spam, and obliterate them.

One part Hulk, one part that guy with the skull t-shirt and arsenal that most 3rd world countries would envy, and one part Freakazoid, he uses his special abilities on a never-ending quest to "Lets fry up some spammers".

The Spaminator, coming to a blog near you.

Yeah, I not a fan either. It's even worse that sometimes my spam filter will block real email from people I whitelist and then let other trashy emails through?????

Ahhhh, the wonders of technology! [Big Grin]

I've actually been thinking of doing a comic about internet superheroes. Hope you don't mind if I rob your idea. I'll team The Spaminator up with The Googler (he can find anything via search engine and NOT get 30,000 hits of porn), and Tubegirl*, who can use her bionic right eye to see the woes of those abused via teh interwebs, while her bionic right hand shuffles evil-doers into a second tier of service.

*I know, this name needs work.

I actually get spam offering me courses in life drawing. And my father got spam advertising barges. Yes, like flat bed river boats. You've gotta wonder.

Lupus, who do you have your e-mail account with, and do you use a mail client? I use gmail and it catches every variation of V14Gra and most other spam.

Thunderbird, though I haven't used it myself, has a good reputation for filtering out spam as well.
