My last computer was named Vega. All of my gaming characters had names that started with V but I don't know if I want to do the same thing with my computers...I could go with stars (the kind in the sky, not in Hollywood). Thoughts?
This will be the first Intel that has ever made its way into our house, as an aside.

I would go with Kilgore. But then, if I had my way, everything would be named Kilgore.

Hmmm. Here I was picturing a real live baby, or at least something furry and alive like a puppy or kitten . . . hmmmm.
Vonda.
Just to stick with the "v" theme.
Or perhaps, Vondelle. Vondette?
Tough task.

Vlad could actually work...
Oooh, ValarMorgulis would be cool, or Valerian for that matter.
I keep peeking over at the UPS page to check my tracking info and crossing my fingers that it doesn't get delivered before I get home today :\.

You should totally go with using Star names. There are so many good ones out there!
Bellatrix - Gamma Orion "Warrioress"
Do it!
I have two naming systems I use. For linux, I use names of places in Middle Earth. For other operating systems I use ships from science fiction. So my server is named Hobbiton, the linux partition of my main computer is Rivendell, the windows partition of my main computer is Galactica and my mac laptop is Serenity.

Given the chipset, I'd consider Gemini.

How about "Wezen" which is a star in Canis Major?
I like it because it is pronounced just like the german word "Wesen" which "living being" but "Wezen" mean weight. I like the double entendre of naming a computer something which could be interpreted either as "sentient being" or "dead weight".

You had computer V.
This is the next computer. It should be VI, so its name, and all player names on it should have their names start with VI
Vic, Villian, Viscious (Gig Viscious is allowable), etc.
(You next computers VII, VIII, IX will be difficult to create names for, I am sure)
or go alphabet. W.
Walden Warrior Wick'd Wanton or Wally the Wicked Wanton Warrior Witch Woman from Wyoming. (I think I dated her once in college)

Jealous I am. Awesome computer you have.
You can just stick a V in front of any name! Like, Vbob! Or Vfrederick.
Posted by TheGrimace (Member # 9178) on :
this probably wont help you at all, but here's my naming scheme and reasoning:
Desktop: Grimace External HD: Pocket Grimace Laptop: Portable Grimace iPod: Grimace Tunes old previous PC when it was a file server: Fry Guy
name origination: tired of previous screenames (primarily counterstrike handles) and was very amused by the combination of a spray my friend made for me with The Grimace holding a pump shotgun, and the phrase from Clerks: The Animated Series "Nothing can kill the Grimace!"
so i'd advise latching on similarly to some aspect of pop culture but that's just my thing maybe

I second Vbob. lol
