...do they?

Maybe it's the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia, but didn't they used to show more of the parade and not keep cutting away every 15-30 seconds for bland banter?

(Now I remember why I only watch it only if I happen to be with my family on Turkey Day.)

That's why I don't watch parades on television. After you've been to the good ones (I've never seen Macy's, but I've been to the Rose Parade three times), they just lose something on the tv.

I do not enjoy parades in person (either from the sidelines or participating in them) or on TV. I don't get the point.

I've only participated in one back at my grandpa's place. The main portion of the parade was the old cars in single file that were in the old car show. Kinda neat as a kid riding in a parade in a 1942 Chrysler (the next year we did the 1942 Plymouth).

I hate watching them on tv. Lose a lot of the atmosphere that way. But then, I don't have to woryy about that now. Being that I don't have cable, I can't watch the parade anyway.

Me neither.
