Given the number of theological debates on this forum that I've witnessed/lurked/randomly comments on, I thought that you all might find this a bit interesting.

Its a review of the Left Behind video game, arstechnica review and there's actually a longish (for a tech site, keep in mind that this is a slashdot-like site with more original content) description of Rapture-theology for a lack of a better word.

The discussion thread is a bit interesting too and is (surprisingly) mainly Christian views of the game.

In any case, thought this might be interesting plus a way to ask who around here has read/enjoyed this series.

I read the first couple books. They didn't seem all that well written.

the concept of the people left behind post-Rapture fighting the forces of evil is actually quite compelling
See, this was my biggest problem with the series. It's not compelling. You know how it ends, and you ALSO know that nothing they do means anything.

As someone who disagrees with pretty much all the theology underlying the Left Behind series, I disagree that what they do means nothing, even though we know how it's going to end and that the end (in a large, overarching sense) will happen whether any humans fight the evil forces or not.

Just because the end when described in general terms won't change doesn't mean that the ongoing results would be exactly the same in all particulars. And since those particulars have eternal effect, even small differences mean a lot.
