I saw an old, worn-out "Gangsta Tweety" t-shirt today. Remember those? It's nearly impossible for me to look at one without experiencing cognitive dissonance.

There's been so many sad examples of this sort of thing. "Hip" updated versions of older characters.

Yo, Yogi! The picnic basket loving bear was suddenly a mall-crawling teen.

"Stripper" Susan Richards The Invisible Woman drops the team uniform for a scant, revealing bikini costume, complete with a cleavage-exposing panel where the "4" used to be.

Fans of The Chronicles of Narnia sometimes encounter the surviving fragments of the pre-Walden Media film treatment Paramount was considering. Set in modern Calfornia, Janet Jackson (!) as the White Witch, enchanted burgers & fries, no Aslan...*shudder*

These so rarely catch on...for which I think we can all be glad.

Bilbo, "Gotta ditch the bling."
Borimor, "Hand it over mofo, or I'll cut you good."
Gimli, "Well fizzle my schinizzle. Come here ho."
Legolas, "Ok boytoy."

Well, if it were Jessica Alba, I don't really see anything wrong with that...

Useless without pics nonetheless!

Isn't this from the same studio that did The Wiz? Well, at least that one had a serious original.
