I have been unsuccessfully searching for the perfect weekly planner. I have all but given up, I just can't find the right one!

If anyone has any suggestions on specific planners, or places/websites to look it would be *greatly* appreciated.

PS,
I've already googled many variations of the word "planner", and I have looked arount at the Borders that I work at. I also looked at a staples.

I suppose as a last resort I'll get a Moleskine. (Nothing serious against Moleskines, they just look kind of... bland.)

Thanks for the help!

Do you object to PDAs?

What would you use it for and would it be more daily or monthly?

I don't actually have a PDA, nor do I really have that much money... I'm starting next year at a >40k/year college, heh!

Yes, paper is definitly best.

For the next six months, Dr. appointments, and other not-terribly-important stuff. Starting in September though, I'll be using it for college class assignments.

I've never done the whole college thing before, so I actually don't know the answer to the daily vs. monthly question.

The community college in my town gives the students free planners. They are spiral-bound and have month-per-view and week-per-view. I like using them even when I'm not taking classes. The downside is that they usually don't include August, when no classes are being held.

In my experience, no planner is worth anything unless you use it. I've successfully used one sheet of paper with a simple table to plan out my week, week after week, and I've gotten much more elaborate planners and not used them at all. You really have to work hard to make it a habit.

Not sure if you would consider it, but I love using Gmail's calendar. It's free with an email address. I can give you an invite. It even does pop-up reminders at specified times.

I print out PocketMod each week. A front cover with my name and contact info, then 3 lined pages for notes, then a yearly calendar, then a monthly calendar, and the back page is for the weekly calendar (easy reference).

When I transfer pending info over to the next PocketMod on the weekend (future appointments, new goals, etc), it serves to underscore them in my memory, too. It's small, but I tuck it into a small lined notebook the size of a wallet (hard sides with a closing strap of elastic, $5.95) with my friends' contact info and more expanded lists.

The trick is to find something that works for you and then stick with it. Different systems will work for different people.

I know I'll use it, I've been using them for a few years now, they are terrifically helpful. In the meantime, I've gotten a small notebook from CVS to tide me over.

My old planner was very classy looking (or so I thought), had interesting facts each week, and had "creamy white paper". I've heard paper described like that before, but I had never seen it until I got that planner... Yeah, I really liked that planner [Smile] [Cry]
