That looks like a rehearsal to me. I'd love to see their actual performance venue, because it must be enormous!

-o-

I was just in Fiddler last year, and it's funny to me how different this doesn't seem. I could practically sing along. Their Tevye seems very talented--he has a lot of personality that comes through--even though he is also quite young. The others I was less impressed with. Their Avram played the part quite differently from how I did.

Thanks for sharing this. It brought back (mostly) good memories and gave me a new look at a show I'm quite familiar with. [Smile]

I'm normally just a Lurker (Hatrack threads are fun to read), but when I saw this I knew some of you were gonna like it.

I thought this thread was going to link to [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdwlG05InAY]this[/rul] amazing version of Avenue-Q-meets-Fiddler-on-the-Roof. [Smile]

Yeah, Icky, I was actually impressed with their Tevye, too, and I thought they all had pretty good voices (although some of the costume choices made me laugh out loud.)

Fascinating read on wiki by the way, this clip got me very curious about Judiasm in Japan:

I think the struggle of keeping with tradition would be very popular with Japanese people. It was completely believable with Japanese actors [Big Grin]

I recommend "In search of Sugihara : the elusive Japanese diplomat who risked his life to rescue 10,000 Jews from the Holocaust" by Hillel Levine. He saved my paternal great-grandfather, as well as many, many other people.

That is very cool. I had never heard of him; that is an awesome story.

Ditto on both. Some of their body language is all wrong too.

Definitely very amusing.
