I also love when he got the people to throw General Motors' third quarter earnings report on the ice at a game against Oshawa. That was classic.

I wish I could find is comments on D&D, its obvious he has played it quite extensively at sometime, or else he is REALLY good and ratting off very well written and extensive lines. Either way it was hilarious.
BOOO on Viacom for demanding all South Park, Jon Stewart, and Colbert Report, clips be removed from youtube!

I still think Stewart's opening number is as or more funny than Colbert, but the guy is hilarious. I don't have a problem with Stewart lately, frankly, I think he's the only honest journalist out there doing important work. If he's a little less funny, that's fine, I get great news from him, and his smart, savvy interviews are amazing.

Stewart on his own is generally funnier than Colbert, but the Daily Show has suffered somewhat lately due to a lack of good correspondents. John Oliver is the only current regular correspondent I'd put up with the Colbert/Helms/Corddry team of yesteryear. I do like John Hodgman and Larry Wilmore, but they're only on the show occasionally. Aasif Mandvi is showing a lot of promise, but he's not quite there yet.

I've almost never liked new correspondents on the Daily Show. It seems like it takes a while to really nail down that style of humor.

Couldn't really figure out which thread to resurrect for this but, last night's episode of The Colbert Report was one of the most hilarious I've ever seen.

Tonight's was another hilarious episode. I loved that he played air hockey with Mike Huckabee, and the conversation they had had me in stitches.
That damned Huckabee is just too likeable!

It's the same for me. Pardon the blasphemy but I generally find most of Colbert's segments rather lame. Not that he doesn't have genuinely funny moments though.

Possibly the ballsiest move ever by anyone from the daily show family. And it payed off.
I listened to an out-of-character interview with Colbert a while back, and he said basically that he spend the two weeks prior to the roast going... oh my God oh my God, they're going to cancel, this is a mistake, how can this be happening?
So classic. I think this defines Bush's presidency as well as any other event- partly because Bush allowed himself to be cornered that way by Colbert, then sat there and just took it.

I recently did some reading about Mark Twain, the public and fictional persona of Samuel Clemens. It reminded me a lot the Steven Colbert, the public and fictional persona of Steven Colbert.
