We celebrated iCal Day at the office. Chocolate, Pirouettes, Fiddle Faddle, and bubbles. Hooray for July 17!

You're weird enough to get it.

I got it, but I never would have thought of it.

One of my coworkers thought of it. I thought it was a great idea.
So great, in fact, that I emailed Steve Jobs wishing him Happy iCal Day.

That's great! Let us know if he answers.

Nah. Google.
No way!
Apparently we're not the first to think of it.
Oh well.

I found the default icon confusing enough that I downloaded a replacement that says "iCal" where the default icon says "17."
Having a specific date number on the application's icon that changes to the correct date when the application is launched is extremely unintuitive.

I don't get it. Google tells me it's a calendar?

Yup. I agree. I've been confused by that icon more than once.
That crazy iCal icon!

The icon for iCal in the OS X dock shows a calendar with the date July 17 marked.
