Oooo boy...
It's almost time.
Tonight is dress rehearsal for the Carmina Burana concert I'm in.

What is really getting me nervous is that I have a solo! Actually I wasn't expecting on getting it...but I did. [Smile] I'm really proud but getting a little anxious. I've done solos before but this is probably my most difficult one to date. The music is easy, just the words are hard to get my tounge around sometimes.

Well, I should get off the computer and start practicing before I head off. Wish me luck!

Is this the choral quartet part? "Valdor, valdor"- that part?

I did CB last year and I sang Tenor, fun but a little repetitive. The music is powerful at moments, but blunt all over. Enjoy!

That is one of the best pieces ever.

What's your voice part, telp? Are you doing the "Sum Abbas" bit?

I love that piece.

What a schlameil (sp) , I haven't even gotten past "O fortuna!" [Big Grin] Good luck on your solo Telperion.

And ye shall ring forth and cause the atoms to dance!

Thanks guys.
I'm singing the first male solo, #4 Omnia sol temperat. It's kinda ironic that the two Baritone solos are being sung by First Tenors, me and this other dude who it turns out is also a member of my frat (Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia).
Yay for musicianly men. [Smile]

Go telp! Carmina Burana is my favorite chorale piece, ever. Any chance it will be recorded?

Is it singers and orchestra only, or do you have professional dancers, too? I saw a large production at the Fox that incorporated the Atlanta Ballet. It was amazing on many levels.

In nay case, Congrats and break a leg!

I love Carmina Burana! We played it a few months ago. I'm a timpanist, and it was the most fun I've ever had playing.

Do you get a recording of the show afterwards?

Lol!
The concert was AWESOME.
I think it was the best performance of the solo I've done to date... can't peak too soon. [Wink]

That's a bastard of a timpani part.
