Here's a little call out the the Hatrack medicos, if they can assist.

Starting last night there was a little stiffness in my right knee. It seems to be the knee itself and slightly above on the outside of the leg.

The only reason I would bother asking is that it feels somewhat like when I've twisted my knee in the past, but I haven't done that.

I did carry several stacks of chairs down some steps last night, which occurs to me now might be the main cause. I'm also overweight and have been walking more in an effort to lose that weight, so that may be a factor as well.

The leg can hold my weight and I have no problem walking, it just feels a bit weird.

OK...enough being a hypochondriac (sp?) for now. Thanks!

The overwhelmingly consistent advice I've seen orthopedic specialists give is to "strengthen the muscles around the knee (especially the quadriceps) and stretch the hamstrings out regularly." Regardless of the details of the knee problems, that's pretty much where they always start treatment.

Of course, if you have a broken bone, current dislocation, or acute sprain with swelling and loss of function, they take care of that first. [Smile]
