After participating in several threads on other fora recently that started with someone spinning off a thread so as not to derail a discussion and ended with almost every poster making irrational attacks on the poster who started the thread and belittling the poster's reasoned and considered choice, or began with a calm discussion of choices in a situation and devolved into bashing of people who made different choices on one side with the other side trying to reason and being insulted every time they posted, I have to say, thank goodness for Hatrack.

I just want to post a thread of appreciation for the way we as a community can disagree and still, for the most part, be civil (and if we're not civil we are usually called on it.) Sure, we have our share of problems-- posters who provoke needlessly, threads that get a bit too heated, and lately, oodles of spam-- but thanks to our wonderfully wise moderator and the efforts of most posters to do the right thing, and of course the excellent sense of humor that seems to prevail here, problems are mostly resolved without damaging the community.

I heart Hatrack. Group hugs all around! [Group Hug]

This post is an excellent example of how dumb your positions are.

By the way, I like chicken tacos.

With ketchup on them? Mmmmm.

Of course. Hunt's ketchup at that.

Oh Primal Curve you use Hunt's? I only use Brook's. Spicy and yummy.

I've used Heinz all my life.

Only voted for Kerry in '04 because I was afraid if he lost he'd take away all the ketchup. Thank goodness I was wrong.

The OT is stupid, and smells of George Bush!

IT DOES NOT!!!

I'm pregnant and I won't tolerate a smell like that anywhere near me.

Just the thought of it is sending me to the bathroom as we speak.

Earlier today I was thinking that the price of Hatrack is that there's always someone with PMS posting. On the other hand, one can bounce ideas off people who don't have PMS.

I'm not willing to be smited until you've had Brook's.

I have.

A friend sent me some.

It was edible, for a catsup. But it's not the One True Ketchup.
