Could someone help me improve my resume?

And help me with cover letters? I am quite desparate.

If you email it to me I'll look at it tonight and give feedback, Lynn. But others will have more experience with resumes than I.

I'm game - what are you applying for?

I'm no guru, but I do get a lot of CVs sent to me.

Just make sure that the format is clear, to the point and don't forget to put in a one-liner about hobbies and interests at the end. The poor interviewer needs *something* to break the ice [Smile]

You'd be surprised at the amount of illegible CVs we receive that turn out just to ba a dry list of jobs. This just makes you look about as interesting as a telephone directory. Remember I don't know you from Adam, so yor CV has to make you interesting enough to call for interview - a bit like an invitation in reverse. The interview is my party, and your CV is your shot at tempting me to send you an invitation.

That said, avoid big bold designs or fancy colours - unless you're up for a job in stationary design. Plain black ink on standard-size white paper is king.

Oh, and BTW, if you have any gaps in you employment history, either shift the dates around to cover them or have a good story (studies or a year in Nepal or something) [Wink]

My email address is good. Also, I got a lot of good advice when I was first looking in 2005. Here it is: http://www.hatrack.com/cgi-bin/ubbmain/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=031096;p=0&r=nfx
